Authorities have shut down schools on Thursday in a Turkish border town due to a renewed fighting between Syrian opposition fighters and the Kurdish militants linked to the terrorist Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).
Local authorities announced on Thursday morning that shools are closed in Şanlıurfa’s Ceylanpınar district due to the fighting in Ras al-Ayn district in Syria. The schools were shut down over security concerns while conflict across the border caused anxiety on the Turkish side of the border.
